Track has been both exhausting and amazing. I have practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with weight room sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The weight room sessions also happen to take place at 5:45 AM. As much as this early time makes me question why I even do sports, the group of people that make up this team are the most unique and down to earth individuals I've met.

First few weeks of all the mayhem
I cannot believe it has been about a month since I began my journey at Marist College! It is safe to say it has been a whirlwind of adjusting to new people, surroundings, and lifestyles. My schedule is packed with science classes, as a result of studying Biomedical Sciences, as well as some random first year requirements. The balance of homework, track, and a social life (while also maintaining sanity) has been a big challenge for me that I hope to overcome.
Along with all the benefits of being on a team with great people, we get treated like royalty (although the queen would never be forced to run hills...). We received a plethora of clothes and sports bag which has become my day to day wardrobe. Athletic wear has always been my outfit of choice but free Nike team apparel will make any athlete's heart skip a beat in excitement.

So what's this all about?
Hi everybody! Welcome to my blog! I created Life of a (college) Student Athlete as a way to show what it's like to be involved in college division I athletics while also juggling academics, a social life, and a job. I have had difficulty finding blogs/pages/articles that detail what life is like as an athlete in college and what experiences they go through throughout their four year journey. I want to display what it's like through the eyes of someone who's heavily involved in college life, and life in general.
As of right now I'm about two weeks away from moving in to Marist College, where I will be majoring in Biology and minoring in Business. I'm not sure how long I'll last (Marist's Biology program is known to be very rigorous, like most college Biology programs), but I'll put in the effort to be as successful as possible. I plan on playing intramural soccer (shh..don't tell my track coach), joining Marist's Business Club, and possibly Ski Team if time permits. I'm in love with athletics, I'm extremely outgoing, I love traveling, picture taking, and being adventurous, and I enjoy anything that makes me laugh.
With that leeway, heres a little bit about my athletic background. From Kindergarten I started soccer, fell in love with it, and continued throughout my high school career. I played random sports here and there during those years including softball, lacrosse, and swimming, however when high school came around, I began track and field. Track is my calling. Even though I say I hate it most of the time, I love it deep down inside me (somewhere). I've always been consumed in sports and I plan on sharing my love for professional sports as well through my blog.
I'm ultimately grateful to be recruited for the Marist track and field team and will be blogging about my experiences with the team, the sport, and the lifestyle. Along with those topics, expect to see my college experience overall, tips I may have, or things I just feel like sharing!
So to end this not-so-little intro I just want to thank you for reading this and I promise I'll get more interesting once college starts. That being said, I'm known for overbooking myself and being consumed in life, so I may not blog as much as I'd like to, but I'll do my best:)
xoxo
